Double Wedding = Double Fun & Elegance

I have been a Fort Smith resident for almost three months now and everytime I introduce myself and we get to the "where do you work?" portion of the conversation, the Kamp sisters' double wedding inevitably sparks a series of "oohs" and "aahs." Although I was not able to experience this event first-hand, I feel it to be more than deserving of a post here on "Hardscrabble Happenings." Please enjoy the exquisite details of such a doubly special day. - Amanda

On May 15, 2010, Hardscrabble Country Club was honored to host the double wedding reception of Clay & Ellen Smith and Wade & Emily Pressley. The wedding party of almost 40 is shown below on HCC's 18th Hole.

Sisters/brides Ellen and Emily helped their mom Elaine Kamp plan a spectacular champagne-colored, elegant event for 700+ guests. To accomodate all of their friends and family, a tent was brought in from Festivities of Springdale, AR and set as a gorgeous outside dining room.

Once again, I need to thank Jody Rhoads at Memories by Jody of Van Buren, AR, for allowing us to use his beautiful photographs.

All of the classic white flowers were designed by Lisa Neumeier Bobel at L Designs of Fort Smith, AR.

Chef Ben prepared a wonderful menu for Clay, Ellen, Wade & Emily to wow their guests. Try not to get hungry looking at the next few shots...

A pasta bar is fun and thouroughly delicious way to feed a large number of guests.

Guests were able to dine outside under the tent and take in the soothing sounds of the Don Bailey Jazz Trio.

As one of the grooms, Wade Pressley, works for West-Ark Oil it was only appropriate for his cake to be this awesome oil tanker.

And, as an avid Razorback fan, groom Clay Smith was represented by this delicious-looking Hogs' football cake.

Emily and Wade shared their first dance in HCC's Main Dining Room before many of their guests.

Next up was sister Ellen and new husband Clay Smith.

The happy couples share in the cake-cutting duties.

The crowd danced all night long to John Williams and the A440.

Both couples exited amidst hundreds of their "sparkling" guests.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Pressley!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Smith!
